Frodo Baggins was the son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck at the Shire. However, the parents of Frodo Baggins drowned during a fishing boat accident and Frodo Baggins became an orphan at an early age.
Frodo Baggins would live with his maternal uncle, however he didn’t enjoy his stay there and eventually Frodo Baggins was adopted by his uncle Bilbo Baggins.
Bilbo Baggins wasn’t technically the uncle of Frodo Baggins as they were very distant relatives but Bilbo Baggins favored Frodo Baggins for his kindness and adopted him with joy.
Engagement of Arwen and Aragorn
After wandering and fighting off evil in Eriador, Shire, Rohan and Gondor under king Thengel of Rohan and the Steward of Gondor Ecthelion the second, Aragorn returned to Rivendell where he reunited with Arwen.
Aragorn and Arwen would journey together to Lothlorien where eventually Arwen accepted the love of Aragorn. Aragorn would offer the Ring of Barahir, the heirloom of the Dunedain and Numenor to Arwen and Arwen accepted it as promised their marriage.
Elrond would however warn his daughter of the consequences of the marriage of a mortal and an elf that she would either have to choose to marry Aragorn and become a mortal or remain as an elf while living for an eternity.
Elrond himself was a half-elf and half-human that chose fate as an elf as the son of Earendil and Elwing. Arwen had to choose either a fate as an elf who shall not be able to marry his loved Aragorn or a mortal who shall not carry on eternal life or would be able to reunite with her family
Elrond’s permission of Aragorn and Arwen’s marriage and Aragorn’s quest
Elrond didn’t necessarily want to challenge the marriage of Aragorn and Arwen, however Elrond had a duty to cleanse the evil dwelling on Middle Earth. Elrond would grant permission for Arwen and Aragorn’s wedding on the condition of Aragorn becoming the king of Arnor and Gondor.
Aragorn would accept the quest given by Elrond, however he would still fell the self-doubt and conflicts within himself as becoming the heir of Gondor and Arnor.
Beren and Luthien’s love – Motif and Inspiration of Arwen and Aragorn’s love
The first bonding of elf and human was Beren and Luthien whereas the last bonding of an elf and human would be Aragorn and Arwen. The human hero Beren fell in love with first sight with Luthien, the elf princess of the elf king Thingol of Doriath.
The elf king Thingol would give Beren an impossible mission to recover a Silmaril from the Iron Crown of Morgoth, the arch nemesis of the elves and human on middle earth.
Beren although completed the quest would pass away while Luthien would also die from the sorrows of losing Beren.
Even the Valars were touched by the stories and revived Beren and Luthien as mortals once again to dwell together on Middle Earth.
Aragorn's first encounter with Arwen was Arwen singing the songs and stories of Beren and Luthien and Aragorn would confess his love and longing of Arwen while he depicted the storeis of Beren and Luthien to Frodo during the Fellowship of the Ring.
Many believe that Arwen and Aragorn were a resurrection of Luthien and Beren as the love story of Aragorn and Arwen is much similar with Beren and Luthien.
Aragorn was also given an almost impossible task to cleanse Middle Earth from the evil of Sauron and restore the Realm of the Exile of Numenor Arnor and Gondor as the lost king.
Corruption of Saruman and Theoden’s reign as the 17th king of Rohan
Sauron would use the Palantir of Minas Ithil which was now called Minas Morgul to slowly manipulate Saruman who has been using the Palantir of Orthanc. Saruman was still strong willed that only greater power that could overwhelm Sauron was the only method to save Middle Earth.
Sauron would use this desire of Saruman against him and slowly manipulated Saruman that he should part from the White Council, elves and humans to fulfill his desire for more power.
Meanwhile Theoden became the 17th king of Rohan after the death of his father Thengel. Theoden would remember Aragorn who had served his father Thengel during his stay at Rohan.
Gollum’s pledge of loyalty to Shelob
Gollum was traveling to search for the One Ring and Bilbo Baggins but after the official return of Sauron, Gollum would head to Mordor instead of the Shire. Gollum has been wandering the lands of Mordor for tens of years that may explain why Gollum was had so much knowledge of the terrains of Morodor.
While Gollum was passing by Cirith Ungol, the old watch tower that Gondor had built now occupied by the orcs of Mordor, Gollum was captured by Shelob the giant spider.
Shelob was one of the last descendants of the Ungoliant the giant spider that even threatened Morgoth(Melkor) and his balrogs.
It was very unusual, but Shelob released and granted passage of Cirith Ungol to Gollum as Gollum would pledge his loyalty to Shelob and promised to provide food for her. Gollum would wander the lands of Mordor before he was caught by Sauron.
Reign of Denethor 2nd and corruption by the Palantir
Denethor 2nd became the 26th ruling steward of Gondor after his father Ecthelion 2nd. Denethor 2nd was the father of Faramir and Boromir and unlike the movie, he was a great ruler of Gondor during his early years before his mind was manipulated by Sauron.
Denethor 2nd did have jealousy and felt rivalry against Thorongil which was actually Aragorn and possibly Denethor 2nd would have noticed that Aragorn was an heir of the king of Gondor.
By his jealousy Denethor 2nd would even disapprove Gandalf as Aragorn have long advised Ecthelion 2nd to receive the mentorship of Gandalf while estrange Saruman.
By this jealousy and inferiority, Denethor 2nd would put his hands on the forbidden palantirs of Minas Tirith as he desired more power and wisdom while he was overconfident of his will power as well.
Sauron would inflict damage onto Denethor 2nd and extract information from him by using the Palantir of Minas Morgul.
Saruman may have also manipulated Denethor 2nd by the Palantir of Orthanc. Although Denethor 2nd was a wise ruler, his complex and jealousy along with the manipulation of Sauron would consume his wisdom and power over the time.
