Life of Thengel

Thengel was the son of Fengel, the 15th king of Rohan and would become the father of king Theoden, the 17th king of Rohan.

The 15th king of Rohan Fengel was a greedy and selfish king so Thengel had many conflicts with his father and eventually took his family to Gondor where he was mentored by the Turgon the Steward of Gondor. Thengel would marry his wife Morwen who was a descendant of the royal blood line of Dol Amroth.

During his stay at Gondor, Thengel gave birth to Theoden and four more daughters including Theodwyn. Theoden would later become the king of Rohan during the War of the Ring and Theodwyn would become the mother of Eomer and Eowyn.

After the death of King Fengel, Thengel would become the 16th King of Rohan where Aragorn would serve and befriend him.

(Aragorn was 17 years older than Theoden)

Sauron’s Official return to Morodor

Sauron would officially announce its return to Mordor and Barad-Dur was reconstructed a year later as the nazguls under the command of the Witch king of Angmar had already been preparing it for Sauron.

Once Sauron declared his return and the Eye of Sauron started to burn on Barad-dur, the volcanoes of Mount Doom or Orodruin started to erupt as well.

Sauron would dispatch Khamul, the Nazgul lord that was second of command along with two other nazguls to Dol Guldur to lead the dark forces.

Sauron would also corrupt the Palantir Ithil stone that the Witch king of Angmar brought to him during the fall of Minas Ithil. Sauron would use the Ithil Stone to corrupt Saruman and weaken Denethor the second, the future steward of Gondor later on.

Aragorn’s learning of his bloodline as the heir of Arnor and Gondor

Elrond would raise Aragorn alongside his twin sons Elrohir and Elladan. Aragorn was called Estel which means Hope in the Sindarin elf language. Under the guidance of Elrond,

ragorn or Estel grew wise and mighty and Elrond finally informed the secret bloodline of Aragorn to him while he gifted Aragorn the Ring of Barahir.

Elrond had the scepter of Annuminas the symbol of the king of Arnor but Elrond informed Aragorn that he wasn’t still ready yet to claim the throne as the king of Arnor or Gondor because of Sauron’s return.

Aragorn’s crush on Arwen

After Aragorn learned of his heritage of Numenor and the royal blood line of Elendil, Anarion and Isildur, Aragorn heard the beautiful lyrics of the stories of Beren and Luthien.

Aragorn took a peek in the forest and discovered Arwen, the daughter of Elrond singing the songs of Beren and Luthien as she just returned from Lothlorien with her maternal grandmother Galadriel.

Aragorn fell in love in first sight; however, Arwen didn’t accept Aragorn’s love at first and Aragorn would head to the wilderness for his training.

The White Council on Sauron’s return and Saruman’s preparation for betrayal

After Sauron officially declared its return to Mordor, the White Council took place once again in Rivendell in concerns of the rings of power.

Gandalf showed concerns again about the One Ring and the rings of power as he was suspicious of Bilbo Baggins in possession in one of the rings of power.

Saruman who still secretly was searching for the One Ring would declare that the One Ring must have flowed into the Belegaer Sea and would be long gone.

Gandalf also agreed with Saruman’s opinion along with the other council members that didn’t know of the ambitions of Saruman to take over the One Ring for more power so he could overwhelm Sauron by power.

After the White Council, Saruman would return to Isengard and would stay in unusual seclusion from the other members of the White Council.

Saruman would use the Palantir of Orthanc and would later become corrupted by the Palantir of Minas Ithil that fell into the hands of Sauron.

Saruman would secretly build up his forces while he would betray the White Council and later on make the alliance of the Two Towers with Sauron. Saruman’s plan was to get rid of the elves and humans first while he would later betray Sauron.

Gollum’s Journey to find the One Ring and Bilbo Baggins

Gollum had already departed from the Misty Mountains as Gollum was obsessed with the One Ring and left for a journey in search of Bilbo Baggins whom Gollum believed stole his Precious.

Gollum traced the journeys of Bilbo Baggins through Mirkwood and eventually Dale where he heard information of Bilbo Baggins and the Shire.

The elves of Mirkwood picked up the trails of Gollum and they’ve met with Gandalf who has just returned from the White Council. Gandalf would receive information from the elves of Mirkwood of Gollum which Gandalf had already heard of from Bilbo Baggins before.

Gandalf thought Gollum was suspicious and started his suspicions again on Bilbo Baggin’s ring might be the One Ring.

However, Gandalf was convinced by Saruman’s confirmation that the One Ring was lost in the Sea of the Belegaer without knowing Saruman’s betrayal.

Gandalf was too occupied with the return of Sauron and nobody else on the White Council noticed Saruman’s secret desire for the One Ring.

Aragorn’s first encounter with Gandalf

While Aragorn headed to the wilderness for his training as the Chieftain of the Dunedain and a member of the Northern rangers, Aragorn first met with Gandalf after the White Council.

Gandalf and Aragorn befriended each other at first sight where Gandalf still had some mysteries of why Gollum left his nest in the Misty Mountains and the true identity of Bilbo Baggin’s ring.

Whatever the reason Gollum left his nest and the true identity of Bilbo Baggin’s ring, Gandalf believed that the dark forces would raise their attention to the Shire and asked Aragorn to take especially good care of the lands of the Shire.

Aragorn would take Gandalf’s favor and patrol the lands of the Shire often where he earned his nickname the Strider.

Aragorn’s service of Ecthelion 2nd the Steward of Gondor and Thengel of Rohan

Aragorn would become known as Strider in the Shire and Eriador while he would take the name Thorongil which means eagle star in elf Sindarin. Aragorn would first serve Thengel the king of Rohan who was also the father of Theoden as Thorongil.

Aragorn would later tell Eowyn of the stories where he would fight alongside king Thengel, the grandfather of Eowyn and Eowyn would realize that Aragorn was a descendant of Numenor a Dunedain later on.

Aragorn would help the Rohirrim of Rohan battle the arising forces of Morodor that started to lurk in the lands of Rohan.

After serving king Thengel, Aragorn would still disguise himself as Thorongil and serve Ecthelion the 2nd the Stedward of Gondor and the father of Denethor 2nd. Aragorn would fight against the orcs of Mordor and he would also fight against the corsairs and pirates of Umbard invading South of Gondor.

Already Denethor 2nd would rival Aragorn where many think that Denethor 2nd figured out the secret lineage of Aragorn as the heir of Gondor and Arnor.
