Snatchers capture Hermione, Ron and Harry
In the movie, Scabior was leading the group of snatchers and the snatchers just happened to have met Harry, Ron and Hermione by chance. In the novel, however, Fenrir Greyback the werewolf was leading the group of snatchers.
Harry, Ron and Hermione accidentally said Voldemort again despite the Taboo casted on Voldemort’s name. The snatchers traced the trio and captures them after a fierce fight.
Hermione changes Harry’s face with the stinging hex before the last minute so Harry’s face started to swell. Luckily the snatchers weren’t so sure of Harry’s face and didn’t recognize him at first glance.
Snatchers recognizes Hermione
Ron Weasley already met this snatcher group and got away claiming he was Stan Shunpike, the conductor of the Knight Bus. However, the snatchers didn’t believe for the second time so he claims he is Barny Weasley. Harry Potter claims his name is Vernon Dursley while Hermione claims she is Penelope Clearwater.
The trio explains themselves that they’ve said Voldemort’s name by accident. However, the snatchers recognizes Hermione’s face as she was one of the top priority lists because Hermione was a muggle-born witch and closest friend to Harry Potter.
Snatchers take Hermione, Ron and Harry to Malfoy Manor – Draco Malfoy lies about Harry’s identity
In the movie Scabior leads Ron, Hermione and Harry to Malfoy Manor. The snatchers instead of directly heading to the Ministry of Magic for their capture wants confirmation and a bigger award so they headed to Malfoy Manor.
Narcissa Malfoy greets the snatchers and calls Draco Malfoy who was at the Malfoy Manor due to the Easter holidays.
Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy urges Draco Malfoy to recognize Harry Potter as they thought it was an opportunity for redemption and get relieved from pressure by Voldemort.
Draco Malfoy knew that the stung wizard wasn’t Vernon Dursley and Harry Potter but he felt guilty and refuses to identify Harry Potter.
Bellatrix Lestrange shocked by the discovery of Gryffindor’s Sword
Bellatrix Lestrange at Malfoy Manor was joyed that the closest friends of Harry Potter were caught although Draco Malfoy didn’t identify Harry Potter on purpose (the rest were unsure) Bellatrix Lestrange caught up a fight with Lucius Malfoy and the snatchers as everyone wanted to take credit from Voldemort.
However, Bellatrix Lestrange takes a glimpse of a sword that the snatchers were holding and claimed their prize. Bellatrix Lestrange is shocked that she saw the Sword of Gryffindor in the snatcher’s hands.
Bellatrix Lestrange starts attacking the snatchers as the Sword of Gryffindor should have been in her vault at Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Bellatrix Lestrange was furious and after torturing Hermione, she calls up Griphook the goblin to identify the sword.
Griphook the goblin realizes that the real Sword of Gryffindor is in front of him but he lies to Bellatrix Lestrange that it was a fake.
Bellatrix Lestrange tortures and interrogates Hermione Granger and locks up Ron and Harry
Bellatrix Lestrange was still furious and tells Fenrir Greyback to lock Ron and Harry who was in disguise up in the basement. Bellatrix Lestrange starts torturing Hermione with the Cruciatus Curse which put immense pain on Hermione.
Later, Bellatrix Lestrange drew her dagger on Hermione’s arm that stated ‘mudblood’. Hermione lies to Bellatrix Lestrange that the Sword of Gryffindor was fake.
Bellatrix Lestrange calls griphook the goblin for confirmation and Griphook also lies to Bellatrix Lestrange that the sword if fake. Ron and Harry were locked up in the basement of Malfoy Manor along with Garrick Ollivander, Luna Lovegood, Dean Thomas and the goblin griphook.
Hostages kept in Malfoy Manor
In the original novel, Dean Thomas was also detained at Malfoy Manor. Dean Thomas was captured as he was a muggle-born wizard.
He was on the run with Ted Tonks, Dirk Cresswell and griphook where Ted Tonks and Dirk Cresswell were murdered and executed by the Death Eaters.
The goblin griphook was captured and locked up because in general griphook mistrusted wizards and witches and resisted to follow orders of the Death Eaters.
Luna Lovegood was captured because of Xenophilius Lovegood’s pro-opinion on Harry Potter by the Quibbler. Garrick Ollivander was captured because Voldemort required his knowledge on wandlore.
Dobby at the rescue
While the screams and horrors of Hermione’s voice filled the Malfoy Manor, Ron and Harry were desperate for action. Harry Potter takes the piece of the two-way mirror that he had. Harry Potter spots someone was looking over the mirror. Harry calls for help to the person on the other side. Suddenly, Dobby arrives by apparition.
Although Voldemort has casted anti-apparition magic and all sorts of protective magic at the Malfoy Manor, Voldemort once again like the Cave Island, neglected the magic of house elves.
Thus, Dobby could transport into the Malfoy Manor. Harry tells Dobby to take Garrick Ollivander, Dean Thomas and Luna Lovegood to the Shell Cottage which was Fluer Delacour and Bill Weasley’s house.
Vision of Voldemort and Gellert Grindelwald
Harry Potter gets another vision of Voldemort at the Malfoy Manor. Voldemort somehow was after the Elder Wand and after interrogating another Eastern Europe wand master Mykew Gregorovitch,
Voldemort heads to Numengard in Austria which was once the headquarters of Gellert Grindelwald himself. Numengard was another fortress and prison comparable to Azkaban where Gellert Grindelwald was detained.
Gellert Grindelwald laughs at Voldemort calling him Tom. Gellert Grindelwald scoffs at Tom Marvolo Riddle and taunts him that he shall never claim the Elder Wand. After Bellatrix Lestrange called Voldemort by the Dark Mark, Voldemort murders Gellert Grindelwald.
Death of Peter Pettigrew
In the movie Peter Pettigrew is only stunned. However, in the original novel, Peter Pettigrew comes down checks on the noise of the hostages. Peter Pettigrew discovers that the hostages escape and tries to stop Harry and Ron. While there was a struggle,
Harry Potter reminds him the moment that he stopped Remus Lupin and Sirius Black from killing Peter and shouts that Peter Pettigrew owed his life to him.
Peter Pettigrew then suddenly feels the guilt but the Silver Hand forged by Voldemort detecting Peter Pettigrew’s sense of betrayal strangles Peter Pettigrew to death.
Standout at the Malfoy Manor
With Peter Pettigrew’s wand, Ron and Harry starts a battle at the Malfoy Manor. Bellatrix Lestrange was disarmed by Ron but she takes out a dagger threatening Hermione’s life.
Harry stunned Lucius Malfoy who didn’t have a wand. Narcissa Malfoy, Draco Malfoy and Fenrir Greyback counters and vigorously casted magic at Ron and Harry.
During all the chaos, Harry Potter disarms and seizes Draco Malfoy’s wand. Harry Potter’s wand was broken so Harry Potter uses Draco Malfoy’s wand for the rest of the campaign.
Dobby also successfully disarms Narcissa Malfoy which shocked everyone as a house-elf would never attempt to harm a wizard or witch.;
Escape from Malfoy Manor & Death of Dobby
Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, the goblin Griphook who held the Sword of Gryffindor and Dobby make their final escape. However, Bellatrix Lestrange threw her dagger at them just the moment they disapparated. Dobby was hit by the dagger and while the party arrived at Shell Cottage,
Dobby was bearly able to keep his death. Bill Weasley was shocked that suddenly all of these injured various characters appeared at his house.
Dobby’s Funeral
Dobby marks his last words “Harry Potter” while Harry was holding him in his arms which devastated Harry Potter. Harry Potter dug the grave of Dobby by his own hands around the Shell Cottage.
On the grave, Harry Potter stated “Here Lies Dobby, A Free Elf”. The goblin Griphook was greatly surprised that a wizard would take such care for a house elf and by the fact that Harry didn’t even use magic to dig up the grave to pay his grievances to Dobby.
