Dr. Alan Grant – Sam Neil
Dr. Alan Grant is a paleontologist those studies prehistoric animals including dinosaurs. He was one of the world’s top paleontologists in the world of Jurassic Park.
Alan Grant first appears in Jurassic Park as explaining the viciousness of the velociraptor(This is an error and the fossil is actually from a deinonychus) to a cocky child.
He reminds Dr. Ellie Sattler about how much he hates kids which disappoints her as Dr. Ellie Sattler was Dr. Alan Grant’s girlfriend and hoped to have kids one day.
Dr. Alan Grant was invited to Jurassic Park by InGen CEO John Hammond as he promised a full funding for Dr. Alan Grant’s research team for three years.
Dr. Alan Grant accepts this invitation without knowing that this visit would determine the fate of Jurassic Park. Dr. Alan Grant was fascinated by the revived dinosaurs roaming in Jurassic Park.
However, after examining the genetic engineering process by InGen and the confidence of John Hammond that InGen could safely and easily control the dinosaurs, Dr. Alan Grant became greatly concerned of the dangers of InGen’s arrogance and attitude against the manipulation of nature and he objected to the opening of Jurassic Park unlike John Hammond’s expectation.
After the sabotage by Dennis Nedry and the visitors of Jurassic Park were threatened by the Tyrannosaurs Rex, Alan Grant would save the John Hammond’s grandchildren Lex and Tim.
Together Dr. Alan Grant, Lex and Tim successfully returns to the Visitor Center after seeing a herd of Gallimimus that were attacked once again by the T-Rex and saving Tim from electrocution by Dr. Alan Grant’s CPR. Lex Murphy then successfully restored Jurassic Park system back but Dr. Alan Grant, Tim, Lex and Ellie were once again threatened by the velociraptors loose.
Ironically, the Tyrannosaurus Rex Rexy saves the visitors from the velociraptors and Dr. Alan Grant’s crew successfully escapes Isla Nublar’s Jurassic Park. Dr. Alan Grant after having a great experience with Tim and Lex, says that he started to like children that made Dr. Ellie Sattler happy.
Dr. John Hammond, however was deep into thoughts looking into the mosquito amber fossil that was on his cane.
The actor Nigel John Dermot “Sam” Neil plays the role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and the Jurassic world series. Sam Neil has played various roles throughout his career and acted in movies such as Evil Angels as Michael Chamberlain, The Hunt for Red October as First officer Vasily Borodin, The Piano as Alisdair Stewart, Event Horizon as Dr. Willaim Weir, Daybreakers as Charels Bromley.
Sam Neil also acted as the Odin Actor as a cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Dr. Ellie Sattler – Laura Dern
Dr. Ellen “Ellie” Sattler is a paleobotanists that researches extinct plants that has lived in pre-historic periods. In the film of Jurassic Park, Dr. Ellie Sattler was partner and girlfriend of Alan Grant as they’ve worked together.
Ellie Sattler was constantly interested in Dr. Allan Grant’s interest in children because Ellie Sattler wanted to have children while Dr. Alan Grant was against having children.
After John Hammon promised to fund Dr. Allan Grant and her work for an additional three years if they accept his invitation to Jurassic Park, Dr. Allan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler heads to Jurassic Park.
Dr. Ellie Sattler was surprised to find already extinct vermiform plants and even amazed by the living dinosaurs. However, after careful consideration, Dr. Ellie Sattler consults John Hammond that the unknown risks and dangers of the extinct plants and dinosaurs are uncontrollable and too risky to open for tourists.
Dr. Ellie Sattler managed to rescue Ian Malcom and even turned up all the electricity from the power shed. At the power shed, she found the only remains of John Arnold, his arm and ambushed by velociraptors.
On the rescue helicopter and safe journey back to home, Dr. Ellie Sattler smiles at Dr. Allan Grant as he was sitting between Tim Murphy and Lex Murphy happily. Dr. Ellie Sattler was very happy to see that despite the tragedy of Jurassic Park, Dr. Allan Grant managed to like children by his experience with Tim and Lex.
Laura Elizabeth Dern has played the role as Dr. Ellie Sattler. Laura Dern played the role as Sandy Williams in the movie Blue Velvet, Randy Carpetner in I am Sam, Miss Riley in the movie October Sky, Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo in Star Wars the Last Jedi and Marmee March in Little Women.
Dr. John Hammond - Richard Attenborough
John Alfred Hammond has founded InGen with Benjamin Lockwood and created Jurassic Park. Dr. John Hammond also formed the Hammond Foundation to help fund other research studies. In the novel, John Hammond was depicted more as a cold-blooded capitalist, however he was depicted as a more genuine human in the movie.
John Hammond has dreamt of the dream theme park with the dinosaurs that he has revived, however Dr. Allan Grant, Ian Malcolm and Ellie Sattler warned John Hammond of the dangers of playing god and how foolish it is to think that InGen had total control over the dinosaurs.
John Hammond realizes this by Ellie Sattler’s words while he was dining wither after Dennis Nedry paralyzed Jurassic Park that he “never had control” and put his grand children and the guests into danger.
After the Jurassic Park incident, John Hammond has became humble of the dangers of his actions such as genetic engineering and reviving dinosaurs and started to respect the laws of nature.
However, he finds out a terrible action of Charlotte Lockwood who was Benjamin Lockwood’s own daughter. He then discontinues partnership with Benjamin Lockwood as well.
However, as InGen suffered significant financial assets after the Jurassic Park crisis and even face the lawsuit by Robert Muldoon and John Arnold’s family, John Hammond had to give up leadership of InGen to his nephew Peter Ludlow. Richard Samuel Attenborough has played the role as John Hammond in the Jurassic Park series.
Richard Attenborough has not only played significant roles during his career but also produced many masterpiece films and he was appointed as a baron and received the Knight Bachelor of Great Britain in honor of his contribution to the Great Britain film history.
Richard Attenborough has acted in Dr. Dolittle, The Great Escape, and even played the role of Santa Clause in the Miracle on 34th Street. Richard Samuel Attenborough has also produced the movie films Young Winston, A Bridge Too Far, Cry Freedom and the Academy Awards winning film Gandhi.
Richard Attenborough was also appointed as a Life President for the Chelsea Football Club as he has donated money to help Chelsea Football club keep their home ground Standford Bridge before bankruptcy.
