The Unbreakable Vow
The Unbreakable Vow was a magic that was casted between two wizard or witches that were delegated under an oath which whoever violates would die.
The Unbreakable Vow required three people including the two that were to take the Unbreakable Vow and a witness that would cast the spell. Bellatrix Lestrange stood witness for the Unbreakable Vow that Narcissa Malfoy and Severus Snape made.
The oath sworn by the Unbreakable Vow was, however, very open for interpretation and quite generous despites its death penalty.
If the oath sworn by the Unbreakable Vow was impossible to achieve for reasons unrelated with the consignees bound to the Unbreakable Vow, the Unbreakable Vow would become obsolete.
Also, the oath sworn by the Unbreakable Vow was open for understanding and those bonded by the Unbreakable Vow only ‘literally’ needed to abide by the oath.
For example, Severus Snape didn’t have to necessarily try his best for Draco Malfoy to assassin Albus Dumbledore and if Albus Dumbledore died from another cause, the Unbreakable Vow between Narcissa Malfoy and Snape would automatically become obsolete.

Harry Potter would chase Draco Malfoy since the semester start at Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express. Draco Malfoy used the full body-bind curse, Petrificus Totalus on Harry Potter who was sneaking on him with the Invisibility Cloak while he smacked and broke Harry Potter’s nose.
Why did Voldemort order Draco Malfoy to murder Albus Dumbledore
Lucius Malfoy didn’t search for Lord Voldemort, lost Tom Riddle’s Diary although Lucius Malfoy had no idea that it was a horcrux of Voldemort and failed to obtain the Prophecy Orb at the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.
Lucius Malfoy was imprisoned in Azkaban but Voldemort was still furious on the Malfoys and he wanted to punish them. Voldemort then orders Draco Malfoy who could access the defense lines of Hogwarts to kill Albus Dumbledore.
If Draco Malfoy was successful, the death of Albus Dumbledore who was possibly the only wizard that was able to stand against Voldemort would be an advantage to Voldemort.
If Draco Malfoy fails, Voldemort had the opportunity to scourge the Malfoys with all the wrath that he had as a punishment.
Thus, Voldemort set up Draco Malfoy with an almost impossible mission to kill Albus Dumbledore that would favor him regardless of the results.
Voldemort already took over the Malfoy Manor as his headquarters and threatened Draco Malfoy by taking his family members including his mother Narcissa Malfoy as a hostage.
Draco Malfoy’s plot and why he visited Borgin and Burkes

Failed attempts by Draco Malfoy to assassinate Albus Dumbledore and the pressure
Draco Malfoy has been missing a lot of class work and he even didn’t start to socialize with Crabbe and Goyle as he had to fix the Vanishing Cabinet as Voldemort ordered him to murder Albus Dumbledore and the stakes of the Malfoy Family relied on him.
Draco Malfoy breaks Harry Potter's nose because of the frustration that Harry Potter made as he was the reason Lucius was imprisoined in Azkaban and his family was in threat.
Draco Malfoy frequently received detention for missing so much class work and not taking his duties as prefect of Slytherin House.
Draco Malfoy was suppressed and started to even grow pale due to the pressure. As Draco Malofy grew hasty, he attempted to murder Albus Dumbledore by smuggling the cursed Opal Necklace, poisoning mead that was to be delivered to Dumbledore but they all failed.
Draco Malfoy was so stressed and became impatient as more and more semester’s end was coming closer which he would lose the opportunity to murder Albus Dumbledore and face the already furious Lord Voldemort.
Deep down, Draco Malfoy also knew that even if he faced Dumbledore that he didn’t have the will or guts to kill him.
The guilt, pressure, responsibility weighed on Draco Malfoy and Draco Malfoy would even share his fears to Moaning Myrtle.
While Draco Malfoy was chatting his feelings with Myrtle Warren (Moaning Myrtle), Harry Potter takes him on surprise. Draco Malfoy tried to counter with the Cruciatus Cruse but Harry Potter’s Sectumsempra nearly killed Draco Malfoy.
Severus Snape saved Draco Malfoy’s life as he heard Moaning Myrtle’s loud screech of the horror of the Sectumsempra
Vanishing Cabinets
The Vanishing Cabinets were pairs which one existed in the Room of Requirement of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the other existed at Borgin and Burkes located in Knockturn Alley.
The poltergeist Peeves has wrecked the Vanishing Cabinet at Hogwarts and it became out of order. George and Fred Weasley pushed a Slytherin House student Graham Montague into the Vanishing Cabinet that was broken when Graham was part of the Inquisitorial Squad of Dolores Umbridge.
The twins pushed him because Graham Montague tried to deduct house points. Graham escapes by appration and tells his story of hearing the outside of Borgin and Burkes to Draco Malfoy.
A year later, Draco Malfoy plotted to fix and repair the Vanishing Cabinet at Hogwarts so it could act as a portal with the other Vanishing Cabinet pair at Borgin and Burkes.
Draco Malfoy remembered Graham Montague’s words and he plotted to fix the Vanishing Cabinet for Death Eaters to pass through the defensive magic casted on the Hogwarts grounds that were also guarded by the Order of the Pheonix members.
Draco Malfoy has been constantly putting flies, birds, apples because he was checking if these successfully made their way to Borgin and Burkes. Finally, right after Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter arrived at Hogwarts grounds(Hogsmeade in the novel, Astronomy Tower right away in the movie)
Draco Malfoy successfully repairs the Vanishing Cabinet and makes a way thorugh for the Death Eaters to Hogwarts.
Opal Necklace – Cursed Necklace
The Opal Necklace was a necklace with a deadly curse placed on it. Those who would take a full grasp of the Opal Necklace would be killed.
The Opal Necklace was originally exhibited at Borgin and Burkes with a huge warning sign due to its dangers. The Opal Necklace was rumored to have murdered 19 muggles already before it reached Borgin and Burkes.
Draco Malfoy has purchased the Opal Necklace before and as Draco Malfy became hasty and impatient due to the fear that should he fail to assassinate Voldemort, his family will all be murdered as an example set by Voldemort,
Draco Malfoy attempts to use the Opal Necklace to assassinate Albus Dumbledore. Draco Malfoy used an Imperius curse on Madam Rosmerta to avoid the secrecy sensor.
Madam Rosmerta who was under the Imperius Curse by Draco Malfoy casted another Imperius Cruse on Katie Bell to deliver the Opal Necklace to Albus Dumbledore. However, during a fight with Katie Bell’s friend, Katie Bell slightly reached the necklace on a hole of Katie Bell’s glove.
She was vigorously thrown over the air and ended up in St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maldies and Injuries for the rest of the year.
Oak-matured mead
Mead is an alcohol that is made by honey fermentation. Draco Malfoy has put Madam Rosmerta from the Three Broomsticks Inn of Hogsmeade not only for the Opal Necklace but also to put poison in oak-matured mead to target Albus Dumbledore.
This was another attempt of Draco Malfoy being hasty as he was under too much pressure and he was desperate to ensure his family’s safety from Voldemort.
Unfortunately, the oka-matured mead that was poisoned ended up in Ron when he went to Slughorn’s office for an antidote for the love potion he accidentally drank.
Harry Potter luckily shoved a bezoar quickly and saved Ron’s life as Harry remembered the Half-Blood Prince in other word’s Severus Snape’s notes on beozars being an antidote for almost any poison.
