[Harry Potter] – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Summary Part 21 - Major Death Eaters that served Voldemort - Antonin Dolohov, Augustus Rookwood, Carrow Siblings and others

Most of the Death Eaters whereabouts are unknown. Below are the Death Eaters that frequently appeared in Harry Potter.

 

Antonin Dolohov

Antonin Dolohov was one of the most loyal Death Eaters to Voldemort. Antonin Dolohov served Voldemort since the First Wizarding War. Antonin Dolohov murdered the Prewett brothers, Fabian Prewett and Gideon Prewett who were Molly Weasley’s brothers.

 

 

Antonin Dolohov was captured before Igor Karkaroff’s trial and he was one of the Death Eaters that Voldemort initially broke out. Antonin Dolohov participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries where he took Hermione Granger hostage and stood with Lucius Malfoy dueling Harry Potter and Sirius Black.

 

 

He was once again sent to Azkaban but released soon. Antonin Dolohov failed to capture Harry Potter at the Luchiano Caffe at Tottenham Court Road with Thorfinn Rowle and was tortured for his failure.

Antonin Dolohov participated the Battle of Hogwarts and murdered Remus Lupin while Bellatrix Lestrange murdered Nymphadora Tonks. Antonin Dolohov’s final is unknown.

 

 

Augustus Rookwood

Augustus Rookwood was both an Unspeakable working at the Department of Mysteries and a Death Eater since the First Wizarding War. Augustus Rookwood provided essential confidential information to Voldemort however Igor Karakaroff sold him off in exchange of other names of Death Eaters.

 

 

Augustus Rookwood participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries where he tried to steal the prophecy of Voldemort and Harry Potter once again.

He took Ron Weasley hostage at the movie. Augustus Rookwood participated in the Battle of Hogwarts as well but his aftermath is unknown.

 

 

Amycus Carrow and Alecto Carrow – Carrow Siblings

The Carrow siblings were also part of the Carrow Family which was part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. The Carrow siblings served Voldemort since the First Wizarding War.

However, they were luckily not caught in Azkaban. Both returned to Voldemort and participated in the infiltration of Hogwarts and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower.

 

 

 

he brother Amycus Carrow became the professor for the Defense against the Dark Arts which became just the Dark Arts and the deputy headmaster while Alecto Carrow the sister became the professor for muggle studies and the deputy headmistress during Voldemort’s regime. Both are assumed to be captured and sent to Azkaban.

 

 

 

Thorfinn Rowle

Thorfinn Rowle was the tall blond Death Eater during the Second Wizarding War. It is unknown if he fought in the First Wizarding War. He participated in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower where he accidentally murdered another Death eater Gibbon.

 

 

Along with Antonin Dolohov, Thorfinn Rowle attacked Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter at the Luchino caffe in Tottenham Court Road after following them from Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour’s wedding. For the failure, both were tortured by Voldemort.

Thorfinn Rowle held Hagrid in the Forbidden Forest and participated at the Battle of Hogwarts. What happened to him after is unknown.

 

 

Walden Macnair

Walden Macnair was a Death Eater that fought in the First Wizarding War. He wasn’t imprisoned in Azkaban and actually worked as the executioner for the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures under the Ministry of Magic.

He was the executioner holding the ax responsible for the execution of Buckbeak the hippogriff. Walden Macnair was among the Death Eaters with the masks at Voldemort’s revival at Little Hangleton graveyard.

 

 

Walden Macnair was Voldemort’s correspondent to the Giants and he successfully driven out Hagrid and Olypme Maxime. Golgomath the new leader, the gurg of the giants agreed terms with Walden Macnair to ally with Voldemort.

Walden Macnair fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries where he held Luna Lovegood hostage. He was then briefly sent to Azkaban and later released and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. Walden Macnair survived the Battle of Hogwarts and was sent to Azkaban.

 

 

Travers

Travers served Voldemort since the First Wizarding War which he was imprisoned in Azkaban. After Voldemort returned, he was one of the Death Eaters that Voldemort released.

He participated in the Battle the Mystery Department Battle of the Seven Potters, kidnap of Luna Lovegood and the Battle of Hogwarts. Travers held Ginny Weasley as a hostage in the movie.

 

 

The Travers family was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. He was also manipulated by the Imperius Curse by Harry, Ron and Hermione as he found Hermione disguised as Bellatrix Lestrange suspicious because he heard that Bellatrix was supposed to be grounded at the Malfoy Manor.

The trio manipulates Travers when they broke into Gringotts Wizarding Bank. His final is also unknown.

 

 

Fenrir Greyback

Fenrir Greyback was responsible for making Remus Lupin a werewolf infecting him with lycanthropy after Remus Lupin’s father Lyall Lupin made an unpopular opinion against werewolves.

Fenrir Greyback’s ambition was to increase more werewolves which contradicted Voldemort’s idea of wizards and witches dominating the world. Voldemort promised Fenrir Greyback and werewolves more respect but Voldemort and the Death Eaters had more prejudice against Fenrir Greyback and the werewolves.

 

 

Voldemort actually disgusted Fenrir Greyback and only manipulated him for the dirty work required. Voldemort never gave him the Dark Mark and the Death Eaters also looked down on him.

Fenrir Greyback also knew of this but didn’t care much as Voldemort provided many opportunities for the sadistic werewolves to murder people especially the weak.

 

 

Fenrir Greyback led the snatchers and participated in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, Battle of Hogwarts injuring Bill Weasley and murdering Lavendar Brown. Fenrir Greyback’s last whereabouts are unknown. 

In the movie, Fenrir Greyback kidnapped Garrick Ollivander and destroyed the Millenium Bridge(Brocksdale Bridge in the novel)

 

 

Rabastan Lestrange and Rodolphus Lestrange

The Lestrange family was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Rodolphus Lestrange married Bellatrix Lestrange(Bellatrix Black) while Rabastan Lestrange was the little brother of Rodolphus Lestrange.

The Lestrange brothers tortured Alice and Frank Longbottom along with Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Junior. Both were sentenced to Azkaban for the crimes against the Longbottoms.

 

 

Rabastan Lestrange and Rodolphus Lestrange both participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Possibly both contributed to the Battle of Hogwarts.

While the whereabouts of Rabastan Lestrange is unknown, Rodolphus Lestrange survived the Battle of Hogwarts and imprisoned into Azkaban. Although Rodolphus Lestrange was the husband of Bellatrix Lestrange, yet oddly he isn’t mentioned much throughout the Harry Potter series.

 

 

Avery and Avery Junior

The Avery family was another family of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Avery Senior went to Hogwarts with Voldemort, Tom Marvolo Riddle and he was part of Voldemort’s Slytherin gang but not much is known of his activities as a Death Eater.

 

 

However his son Avery Junior was friends with Severus Snape and became a Death Eater fighting in both the First and Second Wizarding War.

Voldemort summoned Avery Junior when he revived at the graveyard of Little Hangleton. Avery Junior participated at the Battle of the Department of Mysteries but the rest of his participation is unknown.

 

 

Crabbe Senior and Goyle Senior

Vincent Crabbe’s father and Gregory Goyle’s father Crabbe Senior and Goyle Senior both served Voldemort during the Firs Wizarding War. Both were summoned at the graveyard cemetery at Little Hangelton and scolded by Voldemort.

Both also fought in the Battle of Hogwarts but unknown of what happened to them. Crabbe Senior also participated at the Battle of the Mystery Department.

 

 

Selwyn

Selwyn was a Death Eater that joined Voldemort during the Second Wizarding War. Dolores Umbridge claimed that she had ties with the Selwyn family which was one of the Sacred Twenty Eight. Selwyn participated in the Battle of the Seven Potters and the abduction of Luna Lovegood.

 

 

Nott Senior

Not Senior was the father of Theodore Nott and a student that once joined the Slug Club. Nott Senior was born in the Nott family which was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight.

He was one of the first Death Eaters that has joined Voldemort and even went to school together with Voldemort or Tom Marvolo Riddle.

 

 

 

Nott Senior fought in the First Wizarding War and was lucky to not be imprisoned in Azkaban. He was one of the Death Eaters with a mask that were summoned at Little Hangleton as well. Nott Senior fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries but was caught after an injury.

Horace Slughorn didn’t accept Nott Senior’s son Theodore Nott because Nott Seniot was a Death Eater. Nott Senior participates in the Battle of Hogwarts but his final whereabouts are unknown.

 

 

Mulciber and Mulciber II

Mulciber was one of the first Death Eaters along with Nott Senior, Evan Rosier and Antonin Dolohov. There were two Mulcibers that were unknown if they were relatives and Mulciber the first’s whereabouts are uncertain after the First Wizarding War.

Mulciber went to school with Voldemort while Mulciber II went to school with Severus Snape. Both eventually became Death Eaters.

 

 

Mulciber II participated in the First Wizarding War, Battle of the Department of Mysteries and the Battle of Hogwarts. Mulciber II specialized in the Imperius Curse and was imprisoned in Azkaban after Igor Karkaroff gave up his name and his specialty in the Imperius Curse.

Mulciber II was one of the death eaters imprisoned in Azkaban after the Battle of Department of Mysteries and released.
