Why did John Hammond hire Dr. Grant, Dr Sattler and Dr. Malcom to Jurassic Park
A worker named Jophery Brown was killed by the velociraptors at the velociraptor paddock at Jurassic Park. The death of Jophery Brown was featured at the first scenes of the movie. Investors of Ingen started to question the safety of Jurassic Park and they’ve assigned the lawyer Donald Gennaro to inspect the safety and profitability of Jurassic Park.
The investors also demanded experts to examine the safety of Jurassic Park. John Hammond would invite Dr. Grant, Dr Sattler and Dr. Malcom to Jurassic Park in hopes that they would provide favored opinions to the opening of Jurassic Park.
John Hammond was already funding the work of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler and believed they would be much more interested in the dinosaurs and extinct plants rather than researching fossils.
However, unlike his expectations Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler were fascinated by the living dinosaurs roaming Earth but they were against John Hammond’s naïve and vain dream to control nature and life.
John Hammond’s ambition and illusion that he had total control of the dinosaurs were shattered once Dennis Nedry shutdown the systems of Jurassic Park and brought total chaos.
Ingen with Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna
Ingen negotiates with the Costa Rica government to make a lease on the islands named Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna.
These two islands Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna are factionary islands that were located west from San Jose, Costa Rica.
Isla Nublar was the location where the first Jurassic Park and the first Jurassic World amusement park were constructed and Isla Sorna was the location where Jurassic Park 2: Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 movie which the Spinosaurus appeared.
Isla Sorna was one of the five islands that were called the Muertes Archipelago or the Las Cinco Muertes which translates as the Five Deaths that were located 200 miles or 320kms west from San Jose Costa Rica.
Isla Sorna was the first initial research site of Ingen and Ingen would develop and research dinosaurs while breed them on Isla Sorna and ship them to Isla Nublar once they’ve matured.
Isla Nublar is the island where the Jurassic Park was initially constructed and it is located 120 miles or 192 kms west from San Jose Costa Rica, thus it was a bit closer to the coasts of Costa Rica than Isla Sorna probably for more open access as Jurassic Park was located on Isla Nublar.
Isla Nublar
Isla Nublar is a fictional island where Jurassic Park was constructed. After dinosaurs were developed and bred on Isla Sorna, they were transported to Isla Nublar where Jurassic Park was constructed.
John Hammond, the CEO of Ingen originally planned to open Jurassic Park in San Diego but he abolished these plans as he thought San Diego site was too small and crowded to properly feature the magnificent dinosaurs that he has created. Isla Nublar had a volcano named Mount Sibo that would later erupt during Jurassic World Dominion movie.
West Indian Lilac – Why was the Triceratops sick
The West Indian Lilac or the chinaberry plant is a plant which leaves are poisonous. The fruits of the West Indian Lilac could be toxic to humans as well if consumption is over a certain amount. The toxins of the West Indian Lilac is unknown, however it is a neurotoxin that has a similar structure to azadirachtin which his a insecticide.
The Triceratops would have probably consumed some of the West Indian Lilac fruits as it resembles stones. Triceratops would have swallowed stones or similar objects to use them as a gastrolith.
A gastrolie or gastrolith is a stone or object that some animals would swallow to help their digestion as the object or stone would grind up some of the food that the animals would swallow.
Ground-Penetrating Radar
Dr. Allan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler were digging fossils at a fictional location called Snakewater in Montana.
They use a Ground-Penetrating Radar that seems to use a shotgun shell to produce a shockwave that would activate as a radar. A Ground-penetrating radar would usually use a electromagnetic pulse and emit this pulse to the ground. The pulse or wave would then travel down the ground and spread out.
If an object is buried beneath the ground, the pulse would hit the object and return to the antenna that would sense the object. As the pulse emitted would arrive at a different rate when they return, the Ground Penetrating Radar could identify if there is an object buried beneath the ground and could provide a mapping image of the ground as well.
The Ground Penetrating Radar wouldn’t damage anything below the ground and it could also provide the approximate depth off an object buried beneath.
Thus, the Ground Penetrating Radar would have not only detect whether there are fossils buried beneath but it could also provide the depth and locations of a fossil so researchers could know how much to dig in without harming the fossil specimens.
With this Ground-Penetraing Radar Dr. Allan Grant discovers a deinonychus fossil (the whole Jurassic Park series mistakes these animals as velociraptor) by this ground-penetrating radar.
Land Cruiser/car of Jurassic Park – 1992 Ford Explorer XLT
The tour safari vehicle that was featured in Jurassic Park was a 1992 Ford Explorer XLT. The programmer Ray Arnold acted by Samuel Jackson programmed these 1992 Ford Explorer XLT’s to operate automatically by the Jurassic Park safari protocol.
These 1992 Ford Explorer XLT cars were operated automatically and controlled by the Jurassic Park safari system.
When Dennis Nedri shutdown the Jurassic Park system all the 1992 Ford Explorer XLT’s that carried Dr. Grant, Dr. Malcom, Tim Murphy, Lex Murhpy and David Gennaro unfortunately halted in front of the Tyrannosaurus Rex paddock.
Currently the Ford Explorer 1992 version isn’t available for sale while the 2021 version of the Ford Explorer XLT is about a 25,000 $ ~ 30,000 $ range.
Land Cruiser/car of Jurassic Park – 1992 Jeep Wrangler
More specifically the land crusier/car used in Jurassic Park seems to be a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara version. The utility vehicle that most of the staffs of Jurassic Park used was a 1992 Jeep Wrangler.
Robert Muldoon and Dr. Ellie Sattler would drive the 1992 Jeep Wrangler to rescue Dr. Ian Malcom while they’ve also outran the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Most of the Jurassic Park staffs and rangers would use the 1992 Jeep Wrangler as well to observe the dinosaurs and proceed with their missions. The Wrangler series is one of the iconic brands of Jeep and the most recent version of the Jeep Wrangler starts from a price of 35,000 $.
