Time-Turner - Hermione's time travel device
Hermione Granger used a magic device to revert time that was called a Time-Turner. A Time-Turner had an Hour-Reversal Charm casted that could revert time up to five hours.
The British Ministry of Magic limited the time of a Time-Turner to five hours to prevent any incidents that could occur by time-travel. Professor Minerva McGonagall gave Hermione Granger a time-turner so she could attend classes that she couldn’t take because her schedule overlapped.
The British Ministry of Magic went through extensive review to grant permission for Time-Turner usage. With the recommendation of Professor McGonagall and the excellent academic records of Hermione Granger, Hermione was granted permission to use the time-turner.
Hermione Granger returns the time-turner after she dropped off from the extra classes due to the immense stress they caused. Upon Albus Dumbledore’s advise that she could save at least one life,
Hermione Granger reveals her time-turner which she has strictly kept a secret upon request by Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. Hermione takes three turns by Dumbledore's advice which reverted them back before three hours.
Dementor’s Kiss
Dementors consumed and lived on the emotions and positive memories of humans. However, dementors could actually consume the soul of a human which was an action called the dementor’s kiss.
Dementors would take off the hood that covered their faces and put their mouth close to the victim that resembled a kiss which gave this action the name Dementor’s Kiss.
Dementors were forbidden to perform the dementor’s kiss after their agreement with the Ministry of Magic. However, the Ministry of Magic occasionally sentenced the dementor’s kiss and approved this action to criminals that needed to punishment brutal far beyond than a death sentence.
The victim with their soul consumed had to memories, no soul, no mind to think and merely existed. The victim couldn’t even become a ghost as the victim became soulless.
Rescue of Buckbeak and Sirius Black
At Hagrid’s shack, Hermione and Harry Potter freed Buckbeak. It was essential that Cornelius Fudge, the executioner Macnair, Hagrid and Dumbledore were together witnessing Buckbeak was intact but disappeared but after their conversation Buckbeak disappeared.
Albus Dumbledore and Hagrid were proven innocent as they were under watch of the Ministry of Magic while Buckbeak could escape without harm.
Harry Potter first thought that his father casted the Patronus spell to repel the dementors which Hermione reminded him that James Potter was dead. Harry Potter felt upset but as they observed who casted the Patronus spell to protect Harry Potter in the past and Sirius Black, nobody appeared.
Harry jumped in and summoned a stag Patronus and realizes that it wasn’t his father that casted the stag but it was himself from the future that rescued him in the past.
Hermione and Harry Potte waited broke through Professor Fillius Flitwick’s office where Sirius Black was locked up. Sirius Black greeted Hermione and Harry while mounting on Buckbeak.
He was truly moved by the courage of the both and once again moved by his reunion with James Potter’s son Harry Potter. He escapes with Buckbeak saying
“You are, truly your father’s son, Harry.”
Patronus Charm – Expecto Patronum
The Patronus Charm converted the positive memories or emotions of the wizard or witch into a protective energy force. For wizard and witches who could master the Patronus Charm could summon their spiritual guardian animal which was also called a Patronus. The Patronus Charm was casted by the spell “Expecto Patronum”.
The Patronus charm itself was a difficult magic charm so only the most talented and skilled wizards were able to cast a Patronus Charm and summon their patronus.
The Patronus charm was the only known defensive measure against dementors and lethifolds which were relatives to dementors. The Patronus charm required a positive and happy emotion or memory to cast so only the purest people could cast a patronus charm.
For people who were evil or bad natured, if they attempted to cast a patronus charm, it would backfire and it could damage the witch or wizard or possibly even kill the caster. Villains such as Lord Voldemort who didn’t possess positivity or a good nature thus could not cast a Patronus charm.
Patronus – Ultimate form of the Patronus Charm
The Patronus or a spirit guardian was the ultimate form of the Patronus Charm. It wasn’t easy to cast the patronus charm itself, but even the most talented wizard and witches couldn’t summon a Patronus. Harry Potter summoned a patronus which took a form of a stag after his father to protect himself in the past and Sirius Black.
The Patronus animal form depended on the nature of the caster. If the caster truly loved someone, the caster’s patronus would replicate the spirit animal of the one they loved.
Harry Potter after he discovered the truth of Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black quickly became attached to the sincerity of Sirius Black’s attitude towards him.
This developed a strong will for Harry Potter to protect his only person that could explain his legacy with his parents, his god-father Sirius Black and eventually Harry was able to summon a stag. This also proved that Harry Potter had immense magical talents. The Patronus could also contain messages that could be delivered by the luminant animal form safe and secure.
Firebolt – Gift from Sirius Black
Harry Potter’s Nimbus 2000 which was a gift from Professor McGonagall for the new seeker of Gryffindor House was destroyed after the dementor attack.
Sirius Black observed Harry Potter’s Quidditch matches and was touched as Harry’s flying skills reminded him of James Potter, Harry’s father. Sirius Black always felt guilty as he couldn’t do anything for his god-son Harry.
On Christmas, Sirius Black ordered the Firebolt by the help of Crookshanks for delivery to the post for the order. The Firebolt was the fastest broom ever manufactured since 1993 even superseding the Nimbus broom series. Harry Potter took glimpses of it whenever he saw the prototype but even Harry couldn’t afford it nor could rich people like Draco Malfoy.
Eventually Harry Potter remained the only user of the Firebolt throughout his school years. It surely was one of the best gifts that Harry Potter ever received.
Severus Snape and Sirius Black’s grudge
Severus Snape who didn’t know the full truth of Peter Pettigrew at the moment became furious when he noticed Sirius Black escaped.
Severus Snape protected Harry, Ron and Hermione from transformed Remus Lupin but thinking about it Harry disarmed Snape with the Expelliarmus spell at the Shrieking Shack He expected Harry Potter was involved in Sirius Black’s escape which he could explain as he didn’t know about Hermione’s time-turner.
Severus Snape had a grudge with the Marauders and especially with Sirius Black and James Potter. Severus Snape was relatively neutral with Remus Lupin but still had a grudge against him as well.
Remus Lupin regretted that he couldn’t stop James and Sirius from bullying Snape but the grudge between the former marauders and Snape remained although they’ve cooperated for example Severus Snape brewing wolfsbane potion for Remus Lupin.
